Dougallmedia's Covid Response

The Golden Globe Awards

After being delayed from its usual January date due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's 78th Golden Globe Awards have been pushed back to Sunday, February 28. The awards, which celebrate excellence in film and television, are given out on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are reprising their role as hosts of the annual awards celebration (they previously hosted in 2013, 2014, and 2015.) They will present the Globes for the first time from opposite coasts. Fey is scheduled to host the Big Apple leg of the show from the Rockefeller Center's Rainbow Room, while co-host Poehler will be presenting from the Beverly Hilton. Renée Zellweger, Cynthia Erivo, Joaquin Phoenix, Annie Mumolo, Awkwafina, Kristen Wiig, Kevin Bacon, Sterling K. Brown, Michael Douglas, Kyra Sedgwick, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Catherine Zeta-Jones will be among the presenters appearing on the night. This year's Globes Ambassadors assisting with the handing out of the trophies will be Satchel and Jackson Lee, children of three-time Golden Globe nominee Spike Lee and producer Tonya Lewis Lee.
